about tehran
Tehran is a densely populated city, with beautiful museums, parks, restaurants and warm, friendly people. It should be at least a few days of your Iranian trip.
The city can be divided into about two parts - north and south. The northern regions of Tehran are very prosperous, modern, international, and expensive, and the southern parts are less attractive but cheaper.
During the Zand dynasty, it was a small town that was important in terms of strategy. The first king of the Qajar dynasty, Agha Mohammed Khan, named Tehran as the country's capital in 1778, and most of its growth began during the reign of the next Qajar king, Fath-Ali Shah. The palace built by Agha Mohammed Khan contained large new buildings.
At the same time, the city's population doubled. Due to the growing importance of the city, gates, squares, and churches were built and it was during Nassereddin Shah's time that a large city painting was renovated and modern roads were built. Later, large squares were built, such as the Toopkhaneh Square (now Imam Khomeini) and a few military buildings. Although the Qajar dynasty was in the throes of decline, Tehran soon took the form of a modern city. The building of large government buildings, new roads, recreation areas, urban charities, and educational institutions and routes was abandoned, as the old gates and buildings were demolished and the old cloth of the city was replaced by a modern one.
Tehran (/ tɛəˈræn, -ˈrɑːn, ˌteɪə- /; Persian: تهران Ťehrân [tehˈɾɒːn] (About this list of sounds)) is the capital of Iran and the Province of Tehran. With an estimated population of 8.7 million and 15 million in the Greater Tehran metropolitan area, Tehran is the most populous city in Iran and West Asia, [6] and has the second largest city in the Middle East (after Cairo). It is ranked 24th in the world by locals. [7]
In the Classical period, part of the modern-day Tehran was inhabited by Rhages, a prominent Median city. [8] The attacks of the ancient Arabs, Turks, and Mongols were destroyed. Its present-day heritage remains the urban center of the Greater Tehran metropolitan area. Tehran has also gained an unparalleled reputation as smoke, traffic congestion and the lack of concrete for 14 million seats. But you can also find an endless number of beautiful and comfortable places in the city and suburbs - if you know where to look. Tehran is a city with over 800 parks, all of which are well maintained. The city is about a mile above sea level and is therefore cooler than other cities in the Middle East. However, summer temperatures are extremely hot, with an average of 37 ° C (98 ° F) in July and a maximum of 38 ° C (100 ° F). The air is usually very dry.
The combination makes Tehran a beautiful place to visit: the cool, dry climate of the evening, the proximity of mountains, parks and gardens where flowers bloom all year round, tree bases on roadside or very narrow roads, and even water flowing down from the upper town through deep and wide rivers that look like small rivers. The Alborz range north of Tehran, which hosts the highest peak in Iran, offers great conditions for winter skiers. In winter, mountain hotels and ski resorts in Shemshak, and Dizine are packed several days a week. Some expert glaciers consider snowfall in northern Tehran to be one of the world's most spectacular.
